Start with one task

A few ideas for your home’s to-do list.

You don’t need a perfect list. Capture what you notice, and let it grow at your own pace.

Small repairs. Regular care.

Notice it. List it. Take care of it.

A sticking door, a dripping fixture, a shelf you wish you had—your list can include everyday repairs, improvements and recurring maintenance. Start with what you notice and keep a separate list for each property.

You don't need to diagnose the repair. Tell us where it is and what has changed. Book a working visit when you want help; we review the work and price with you before you approve it.

Around your home

What would make everyday life easier?

Interior door with modest wear along its edge

Fix the little frustrations.

  • A door that rubs or won't latch.
  • Loose handles, hinges or cabinet hardware.
  • Wall damage, worn trim or a room ready for paint.
Small separated caulk joint along a bathtub

Check the busy spaces.

  • Separated caulk around a tub or sink.
  • A dripping fixture or toilet that keeps running.
  • Missing storage in a kitchen, closet or laundry.
Wooden garden gate sagging slightly at its latch side

Look beyond the front door.

  • A gate that drags or loose fence pickets.
  • Worn deck boards or loose exterior hardware.
  • Door seals and finishes showing weather wear.

Make care a habit

A few reminders for your calendar.

Use these as planning prompts. Follow the instructions for your equipment and adjust for its condition, use and Gulf Coast weather.

Monthly

A quick look around.

  • Test smoke alarms using their test buttons and manufacturer instructions.
  • Look under sinks and around accessible fixtures for drips, dampness or water marks.
  • Watch for unexpected water, staining or overflow near accessible AC condensate drains or pans. Arrange preventive HVAC service to confirm proper drainage; do not enter an unsafe attic or disturb equipment.
  • Check your HVAC filter's condition; clean or replace it as its instructions require.
  • Notice flickering lights, damaged cords, unusual fan noises or wobbling. Stop using anything unsafe.
  • Observe sprinkler coverage during a permitted watering cycle; note broken heads, pooling or water spraying the house.
  • Keep walking routes clear and note loose rugs, trip hazards or unstable handrails.
Quarterly / seasonally

Look at the bigger picture.

  • From the ground, look for dead or damaged tree branches; arrange qualified help when needed.
  • Check visible exterior caulk, door seals and window edges for gaps or deterioration.
  • Look for blocked drainage, overflowing gutters or water collecting beside the foundation.
  • Check doors, gates and accessible outdoor surfaces for changing operation or wear.
  • Review accessible washer hoses, cabinet interiors and areas around toilets for moisture.
  • Review storm preparation and outdoor wear before hot, wet or stormy weather.
Yearly

Plan ahead for your property.

  • Review equipment service and replacement dates against manufacturer instructions.
  • Arrange appropriate professional HVAC and other equipment servicing.
  • Review roof and exterior condition from a safe location; use qualified inspection where needed.
  • Check alarm replacement dates and review your household's emergency plan.
  • Prioritize larger painting, storage, access or outdoor improvements.
  • Review each property's repair history, recurring concerns and maintenance budget.

Easy-to-miss details belong on the list, too.

A musty cabinet, swollen trim, a loose towel bar, a bath fan that no longer clears moisture, or a latch that suddenly needs extra force can be worth noting. Record the location and symptom rather than guessing the cause. Don't wait for a scheduled check if you notice an active leak or another urgent concern.

Keep checks observational and within safe reach. Electrical faults, unstable trees, roof access and specialist equipment may need the appropriate professional. Ask us about the work you have in mind so we can confirm the right next step.
